Taste Buds in Ukiah

Has lost its pizazz since they changed ownership. Same recipe but not the same love into them. Not bad but not the same.

I would give this place five stars, but simply put, its overpriced.I ate here three different times and the food was always well prepared and wholesome.If you want simple and delicious, then don't hesitate to eat here.

I tried to find things to dislike about this place, but that was hard to do. I like the hot bar options. I tried the kale and carrots dish which was delicious. I also ordered the BBQ drumsticks and a strawberry milkshake. The drumsticks were coated in a BBQ sauce that had a spicy garlic twist to it. The vegan ranch was gross-the only way I can describe it is that it tasted like firework smoke smells. That's OK because I just got extra BBQ sauce and dipped them in that (rather than the vegan ranch). The bad thing is there were only about 5 wings for a dish that was $10.50! I also had a strawberry milkshake. Although it was delicious, it cost $9 and it was only 12 ounces. Some of their items are definitely overpriced for the amount you get. If I were them, I would keep the prices the same but double some of the portions.Bonus! All of their silverware, straws, cups, etc are compostable!

I love this place and if I'm ever driving past Ukiah I make it a necessary stop. I dream of their vegan fish dishes every day :) The price is very fair for the quality and quantity.

This is a great place to visit if you are in the neighborhood. It has great ambiance, wonderful vegan food and welcoming staff. I stopped by for lunch around noon. I was a little worried since I was the only one there. By the time 12:30 pm rolled around the place was buzzing with locals ordering food. I ordered a veggie burger with sweet potato fries. The burger was delicious. The fries had a mild sauce which made it even more delicious-- remember that all fried foods taste great. Great place to visit if you are ok eating delicious vegan food.

AMAZING FOOD!!! Today was my first time eating here and we were beyond happy with our food. I highly recommend the vegan taco salad and the vegan nachos! Over all great tasting food, and great service.

Food is good. Service is awful. Not impressed with how little they care about their costumers. I also called to ask when A good time to come in for dinner would be since the chef is rarely there and They put me on hold for over half an hour so I called back and got attitude and was hung up on.Edit: they have new owners now. Service is definitely getting better.

The kale w garlic and pumpkin rice is really good. Super friendly atmosphere..

One of the reviewers said that the meat is fake. Had he bothered to look, he'd understand that this is a vegan restaurant. They make everything from scratch daily and a lot of the ingredients are not easy to find without GMOs. They put a lot of love into their food and I've never consider their prices to be too high for what I get from them every time. I love their food and if I didn't know how to cook I'd be here every day.

Delicious! Best kept secret for.veterarians and carnivores who adore vegetarian dishes that are full of amazing flavors Please keep the kale on the menu ever day! Awesome! And super nice staff!

Best vegan place in the community and hope for it to come by even closer in Oakland and S.F., real soon. To have a all you can eat vegan restaurant at a good price and the service was good there and look forward for the next trip again soon.

Delicious local food

Very apropriaste name for this place. Their hearty vegan dishes are perfectly seasoned. Make sure to leave room in your tummy for a milkshake as theirs are among the bests I had in CA.

Great spot with vegan and gluten free options. It's a little pricey but it is REAL FOOD! You get what you pay for. Friendly staff who will explain the dishes and make suggestions.

Outstandingly Good! I miss a place like this where I live. Get hungry just thinking about the excellent food and relaxed atmosphere. Glad my company choose this place for lunch. Outstanding is the word. TY

They had hired a new cook a month or so ago and I thought I'd died and gone to hippy heaven. I would give 5 stars if they would've kept her. To bad. Now same old flavor.

EVERYTHING I ordered was worth eating again and again. The vegan burger, the chickpea dish, the vegan hemp shake, the vegan cheesecake. All of it was amazing. If only there was one in the bay area.

If your chosing a raw food or vegan diet this place is the best place around. Food is bursting with flavor and their naturally infused beverages are super satisfying. Fairly priced. Highly recommend. Oh yeah! Great customer service too. Everyone is always all smiles :)

If you are vegan and are in ukiah you owe yourself this gem. First the staff here are truly awesome nice and friendly. The food was amazing the Rueben I had was the best. I have had Rueben from other places this was the best even being all vegan. the food is locally grown and non gmo and pesticide free with no biotic help either. Secondly the atmosphere was very inviting between the hand carve chair in the corner, down to the salt lamps. The place is a great example thay the American dream is not dead. The staff told me it had been around for 7 years. A must eat a must go.

Very very good! Best HEALTY option in town! Happy that there is a vegan place in Ukiah. I hope that they expand in a vegan/vegetarian dinner place (hopefully not crazy priced). We need more of those. ❤✌🏽

Had the wrap and it was delicious. It's choose your own fillings and I had the pea rice, pea balls and curried chickpea and potato. The vegan cheese sauce is tasty. Definitely stopping again.

Delicious vegan food. The pies are also absolutely amazing!!! Fresh juice the pineapple ginger is my favorite. Price is a bit high but serving size makes up for it and you'd pay more to make the same meal at home.

Very pleasant atmosphere and staff. Food was yummy! Loved the forbidden rice and stewed pumpkin.

Wonderful veggie food. Lots to select from. It's nice place place to sit and eat. Very comfortable.

So thankful to have a delicious vegan restaurant in Ukiah. The food on the hot bar is so convenient and always so tasty and full of flavor. Some of my favorites are the mashed potatoes with mushroom gravy, garlic lemon green beans, black beans, and the Mac and cheese. They also have salads, nachos, desserts and milkshakes. Food is always delicious. I normally do not eat vegetarian food because I usually find the food bland. Taste Buds is so flavorful and they always have different menus which is really nice. One of the best restaurants in Ukiah.

$11 for this??? Yeah ok. I better enjoy it, never going here again.. The portions were always much larger when I used to come here all the time last year, this is B.S.

The staff was okay. They weren't overly friendly and the price of the food was extreme. The overall atmosphere was unwelcoming and left me with a bad taste in my mouth (in more ways than one).

Great original Caribbean style vegan food. They use organic ingredients from local farms. Sll the items are amazing. The price is slightly high but given the quality, its worth it. You can order or eat from their buffet if you want a quick bite. The dinning area is small but veey cozy and veey well decorated. All setvice staff is friendly.

Dropped in for lite snack. Sweet potato fries like I wish I could make 'em. Perfectly seasoned, flavorful combo of tender n crispy. Cashew chocolate vegan sundae just heavenly. Smiling informative service. Will be going there again.

So happy to discover this organic vegetarian oasis while I was working in this unfamiliar part of the country. I had the buffet-style lunch plate with spicy jerk tofu, peanut-stewed sweet potatoes, collard greens, two kinds of rice, and curried garbanzo beans with potatoes, with a homemade vegan peanut butter cup for dessert. Everything was fresh and delicious, the staff was super friendly, and all their plates and cups and utensils were reusable. Hope to eat here again.

Just became my favorite restraunt Ive ever been to. Super kind staff and super kind prices. I highly recommend to anyone.

All vegan food bar with fresh salads, burgers, sandwiches & hemp milkshakes. They use local ingredients when possible. Their cooked food bar changes slightly daily.. Not consistent in there portion or cooking, so some days u may have crunchy rice & smaller portion etc.. Fairly high priced for what they offer but it's healthy & mostly tastes great.

I get to eat here a lot since I work in the area. I love how the service is always awesome and they keep the spot well organized consistently. Rates are fair and they serve sizeable portions.

Would not serve me or my family for some unknown reason. We were told they were closing early (no sign or notice was posted). We noticed while walking away that a customer who pulled up was offered food. Not sure why we weren’t.

It was really good. I'm not really into vegetarian food but this place was very tasty and nutritious too. I got cauliflower curry and also veggie chicken with broccoli. They have nice tables out front in the shade.

Adorable little quaint place. I had the Veggie Burger with Sweet Potato Fries... Mmmm... Delicious!

Vegan food establishment. Food is tasty and nutritious. Not much food for the price. The staff was friendly and helpful. Wanted some ice cream and the totally let us do a taste test before committing to buying it. Ended up getting it because it was f-ing delicious.

Great options good for vegans. They played old school reggae ... like the real reggae not the new school reggae that's really just garbage like vanilla ice... but the old stuff with Peter Tosh and Bob Marley
